Jody MacDonald is passionate about stepping off the beaten path in pursuit of documenting issues that blend insightful storytelling, adventurous expeditions, and social change to promote the preservation of the environment.
Jody has adventured and photographed some of the world’s most uncharted territories. After spending her childhood in Saudi Arabia, she has sailed worldwide twice a decade on a 60-foot catamaran while sailing, kiteboarding, surfing, and paragliding.
Jody believes that “documenting your participation in whichever sports you enjoy is an excellent approach to begin honing your adventure photography skills.”
She has visited over 100 countries in quest of the unknown while taking breathtaking professional photographs, worked on high-profile projects for brands like Disney, Red Bull, Ford, HP, BBC, National Geographic, and Scuba Diving Magazine, and more.
Jody was even recognized as “one of the 25 most adventurous women in the past 25 years” by Men’s Journal. SAVAGE is grateful for her depth of professional expertise combined with her deep desire for social and environmental change that makes her want to support the SAVAGE mission!

Photography is much more about how you see the world than the camera and lens you use.
Capturing shots that are comparable to what you’ve seen before is a crucial aspect of developing photography abilities, but once you’ve mastered it, try shooting from unusual angles and perspectives.
