Paul, a Canadian photographer, filmmaker, and marine biologist, has spent more than 20 years capturing the beauty of our planet. He is an ardent supporter of conservation efforts and has led an incredibly artistic, adventurous, and impactful life.
Having served as an assignment photographer for National Geographic magazine and Sony Artisan of Imagery, Paul has captured the imagination of a global audience with his creative work and is one of the world’s most recognized polar and oceanic conservation specialists.
Paul uses documentary photography to inform and create an emotional connection with wild subjects in extreme conditions. His work often introduces audiences to realms that are rarely witnessed, which helps raise awareness about the importance of conserving our planet.
He is the co-founder of a nonprofit conservation society, SeaLegacy, which inspires millions of people to protect pristine places that are threatened by climate change. His professional work has garnered over 30 of the highest awards given to any photographer in his field, including the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year and the prestigious World Press Photo for Photojournalism. Additionally, he’s been bestowed an honorary PhD at the University of Victoria for the impact his creative work has had on climate change awareness.
